EDU 593C: Learning Disabilities – Theory, Characteristics and Issues

This is an upper level course that prepares you to work in the field of Special Education. In this course you will learn how to use a wide variety of teaching methods, materials and strategies to help children with learning disabilities. You will also study the changing definitions of learning disabilities, the theoretical basis for learning disabilities, the medical aspects of learning disabilities, cognition and language characteristics of learning disabilities, and personality and social characteristics of students with learning disabilities.
