GRD 1208: Introduction to Group Therapy I

The aim of this course is to gain a working understanding of fundamental theories of group therapy and its practice. GRD 1208 and its continuation, GRD 1209, will provide you with both a theoretical understanding of various approaches to group therapy and a practical skill set to apply in the field. Research has shown that group work is particularly effective in helping client’s process grief and facilitating recovery.

Please bear in mind that this is an accelerated program, so you will find the course to be fast-paced and the workload a bit more intense than what is typical in a regular program.
