EDU 574 will examine the current trends of Secondary School Administration and Supervision and understand the role of communication plays in the Administration process.
Welcome to Secondary Administration and Supervision. This is a Masters level course in the curriculum for the Degree, Masters of Science. I am pleased to instruct you in this course, which will be a foundational course for the remainder of your studies in the Master's program.
This is a course that will help Educators understand the relationship between effective communication & interpersonal relationships and examine different means of Communication and Techniques used during the Supervision process.
We will also focus on a cquiring successful techniques to use in the Secondary Administrative level.

This is a five semester hour course. This course is allotted ten weeks of time. You must complete all of the requirements for the course successfully by the end of the ten-week period. The first day of week one will begin the day that you register for the course, or the day which you notify me that your textbooks have arrived and you are ready to begin your studies. Please be cognizant of the time frame. It is rare that extensions of time are permitted, unless you have good justification. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded five semester hours of credit.

You are encouraged to communicate with me. I am available as a teacher, coach, and mentor to assist you in meeting your goals for this course. Primarily, communication is through email. However, I am also available for conversation by telephone if you would like. Our classroom for this course has a "chat" room. I am also very willing to meet with you one-on-one in the chat room at your request. From time to time, depending on how many students are enrolled in this course at a particular time, we will have some scheduled group chats. You will receive more detailed information at the time such chat sessions are scheduled. Please keep my email address handy so that you can contact me whenever necessary. The written assignments for this course will be reactions to readings or observations. These should be completed in a Word Document and sent to me. Although this is a Masters Level Education course and Mastery of the course content is our focus, as in any English Composition course, I will give you feedback on your writing. As a future educational leadership, you will be a role model in how you conduction yourself, how you communicate as well as how you lead others. Do not be concerned if you receive feedback with recommendations or corrections on sentence structure, grammar or usage, follow my lead and you will become more confident and successful within your current position and any future career path you choose.
I, Beth Highgenboten, M.S., GC-C, Ph.D. Candidate, currently teach a Masters Level Course at Breyer State University in Education. I am also working towards my Ph.D. in Grief Counseling at Breyer State University . I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A & M -Commerce and a Bachelors Degree in Education from The University of Texas at Austin . I will receive a Masters Degree in Educational Administration in February 2004. I am a Crisis Counselor in a large school district and I work in the Middle and Elementary Schools. I have a Pet Therapy Dog (Weimaraner) named Pongo and we visit terminally ill patients each week. I love to spend time outside and with my family.
