Online Degree Program

Our online distance education program offers students the opportunity to study a comprehensive curriculum in the Finance degree program.  Finance professionals help organizations find and manage the resources needed to grow, make investments and acquisitions, plan for the future, and manage existing assets. Students in the Finance degree program will build the knowledge and skills needed to advance in the financial services industry or as a financial professional within the public or private sector.

Through this program students will learn the skills needed to succeed in this field. All of the courses are focused on the major. This allows students to maximize their learning in the core courses and succeed in their educational and career goals.

Students begin with personal finance, accounting principles, money and banking, and business law. In the higher division courses students study; analysis of financial management, risk management, estate planning, and investment management.  Students then complete a financial research course and a financial symposium. Several career fields this degree will prepare you for are:

* Commercial Banker
* Investment Banker
* Money Manager
* Real Estate Management

The perquisites for this program are: a high school diploma or an earned GED

The online curriculum offers an innovative approach to higher education. Enrollment is open and students may begin the program at any time. All courses are provided in online classrooms, with on-to-one faculty mentoring. Students also have free access to our comprehensive Study Tactics and Resources Center, with links to subject related websites, online libraries, articles and research assistance. Our online degree in Finance curriculum includes:

3. ACT 145 Accounting Principles I 5 hrs
4. ECO 202 Money & Banking 5 hrs
5. BUS 227 Business Law 5 hrs
6. FIN 260 Analysis of Financial Management 5 hrs
7. ACT 304 Accounting Principles II 5 hrs
8. FIN 320 Introduction to Investments 5 hrs
9. FIN 350 Risk Management I 5 hrs
10. FIN 392 Estate Planning & Taxation 5 hrs
11. FIN 410 Risk Management II 5 hrs
12. FIN 444 Finance & Research 30 hrs
13. FIN 491 Finance Symposium 30 hrs

TOTAL: 115 Semester Hours

Courses in this curriculum are to be taken in sequence as above.

TUITION: $400.00 per course. Students may register and pay for one course at a time.

* Note: cost of tuition does not include cost of text books.

** There is also a one time $ 50.00 admission processing fee.

Course Completion Times: Students are permitted 10 weeks to complete an online course. This may be extended with the permission of the instructor. For all Symposium Courses, students are permitted up to a six month period for completion. Doctoral students are permitted one year for all Dissertation/Doctoral Project courses.
