Our online distance education program offers students the opportunity to study a comprehensive curriculum in the Criminal Justice program. If crime did not pay then it would not exist. Crime, however, does pay and this is why the field of criminal justice will always be a key part to the success of any civilization. There will always be a deviant part of society, therefore there will always be a need for the criminal justice system.
Through this program students will learn the skills needed to succeed in this field. All of the courses are focused on the major. This allows students to maximize their learning in the core courses and succeed in their educational and career goals.
Students
begin with the study of the basic three fields of criminal justice; Law Enforcement, the Court System, and Correctional/Prison system. Specific courses focus on criminal behavior and information systems, juvenile justice, and liability/career issues. In the higher division course students
choose between five specialty tracks; policing/enforcement, law/courts, corrections, crime scene investigation, and public/privatized security administration. These tracks help students specialize their degrees in the field they wish to enter. Several career fields this degree will prepare you for are:
* Police Officer
* Correctional Officer
* Parole Officer
* Security Management
* Courtroom Positions (Bailiff, Reporter, Clerk)
The prerequisites for this program are: a high school diploma or an earned GED
The online curriculum
offers an innovative approach to higher education. Enrollment
is open and students may begin the program at any time. All
courses are provided in online classrooms, with on-to-one faculty
mentoring. Students also have free access to our comprehensive
Study Tactics and Resources Center, with links to subject
related web sites, online libraries, articles and research assistance.
Our online Criminal Justice degree curriculum includes: (access red links,

The above Lower Division courses are required for all
students in the degree program. Upon successful completion of the
courses, the student will be required to pick any one (1) of the tracks. Each track has 4 courses and the capstone project. Then the student will have to choose 5 courses from the remaining 4 tracks. If they want to take all of the courses from another track then they can have a double major. They will only need to complete 1 more course from another track. They can only complete one capstone project as well. For example a student wants to complete both the Law and Courts track and the Policing track, they will then need to take another course from one of the remaining 3 tracks then complete their capstone project.
